“Our Nursery”
Nursery News and Events
OFSTED- We are pleased to announce that OFSTED visited our nursery on May 4th 2011. We are pleased to say that we achieved a tremendous outcome of ‘GOOD’ in every area, which for a 1st inspection, within 8 months of opening, is excellent. The officer commented on our staff and parent relationship and how well we promote healthy lifestyles, stating that;
“Promoting healthy life styles, ensuring children feel safe and partnership work with parents are stronger aspects of the provision. All children are equally valued ensuring that they can all make a positive contribution, promoting their emotional well-being.”
“Staff work hard and take time in developing good relationships with parents as they listen to their views and contributions and will support families in meeting children’s needs.”
We are very proud that the inspector found that the “Children are happy and confident in the nursery”.

We recently had a visit from the local Fire Brigade and the Police. They taught the children about ’safe people’. Once the teaching was over they all had fun ‘driving’ the fire engine and trying the water hose!

The children really enjoy getting creative and have created many displays. This is our Jungle display which is currently displayed in the Billericay Library, on the High Street.

We have completed a Black and White display for our babies because high contrast colours are STILL the best when it comes to development in babies. Newborn babies can see from birth, just not as clearly as an older child or adult. Until your child is about six months of age, he will respond best to bold, contrasting colours and graphics. That’s why it’s important to provide our babies with toys and displays that feature the visual extremes of black and white. These high contrast colours will captivate and hold our babies attention, encouraging visual development as well as physical activity – like wiggling, kicking and arm waving.

The older children always get very excited when the staff take out their cameras to take pictures of the children’s day at the nursery. After observing this, we recently provided the children with digital toy camera’s to see the nursery through their eyes.
Here you can see them taking pictures of their friends.

The following are pictures the children have taken of their surroundings.

Below are pictures of some of the childrens favourite toys.
